A 1-1/8" hardwood ball core is tightly wrapped with a thin layer of white wool felt. A cartwheel style wrap is used to allow the most even pull on such thin felt, and a softer top for less articulate rolling. The small (1-1/8") hardwood core wrapped in chamois offers extremely hard articulation with the lack of a plastic "slapping" sound. The fine-leather chamois is pulled tight and secured using thread and small amounts of glue. Great for articulated quiet passages and loud thunderous alike.
